Iran

Mediation has been part of Iranian law and culture for years. In Islam, resolving disputes through mediation and settlement (solh) is promoted and advised. According to Iranian law, a judge must try to resolve disputes through mediation and settlement, and only if these efforts fail, should the judge continue to adjudicate the dispute.
