About Sherzodbek Masadikov

Sherzodbek Masadikov holds a Ph.D. in law and has worked in government, nonprofit and commercial sectors, performing a wide range of legal tasks. He was the first scholar in Uzbekistan to write his dissertation on mediation, and he actively participated in drafting the law on mediation, which was adopted by the country in 2018.

Litigation Practice

Mr. Masadikov specializes in civil and commercial law and international arbitration. He has represented a local company in international commercial arbitration and appeared in the final hearing before the arbitral tribunal in London.

ADR Achievements and Training

  • Mr. Masadikov was the first scholar in Uzbekistan to write his dissertation on mediation. He has actively participated in drafting the law on mediation, which was adopted in 2018. He is also engaged in drafting the law on international commercial arbitration in Uzbekistan.
  • Mr. Masadikov has undergone extensive advanced dispute resolution training at Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution, Pepperdine University School of Law (2017).
  • Awarded a Weinstein JAMS International Fellowship (2016)
  • Visiting Scholar at Max Planck Institute for Comparative and International Private Law, Hamburg, Germany (2010)
  • Participated at the 8th International Summer School on Alternative Dispute Resolution, Humboldt University, Berlin, Germany (2006)

ADR Teaching and Mentoring

Mr. Masadikov frequently lectures on ADR and is a speaker at conferences devoted to the development of ADR in Uzbekistan.
