Giulio Zanolla is an international lawyer and mediator with legal and ADR training in Europe and the U.S. His practice focuses on the resolution of complex civil and commercial cross-border disputes.

Mr. Zanolla has worked on hundreds of mediation matters in over fifteen years of practice as an ADR neutral. He is a member of the Panel of Distinguished Neutrals of the International Institute for Conflict Prevention and Resolution, the Neutral Roster of the American Arbitration Association, the International Panel of Mediators of the Center for Mediation and Law (Moscow, RUS), the International Panel of Bilingual (English-Italian) Mediators of the Milan Chamber of Commerce, the FINRA ADR Neutral Roster, the Panel of Mediator of the District Court for the Southern District of New York, and the ADR Panel of the District Court for the Eastern District of New York.

Mr. Zanolla is an Adjunct Professor at the City University of New York (CUNY) Law School Mediation Clinic.

Litigation Practice

Mr. Zanolla’s litigation practice includes state court, federal court, and arbitration proceedings in the areas of insurance coverage, professional liability, contractual disputes, corporate transactions, intellectual property, and real estate.

Mediation Practice

Mr. Zanolla’s mediation practice includes successfully mediating disputes concerning contract interpretation issues, insurance coverage, securities laws, Directors’ and Officers’ liability, employment claims, intellectual property enforcement actions, antitrust actions, bankruptcy-related issues, professional malpractice, product liability, mass torts, personal injury and wrongful death claims. He has mediated cases involving the financial, insurance, energy and natural resources, technology, healthcare, communications, consumer goods, legal services, accounting, and entertainment sectors.

ADR Achievements and Training

  • Mr. Zanolla was the first recipient of the Weinstein JAMS International Fellowship (2008)
  • Visiting Research Scholar at the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, New York. (2009)
  • Successfully completed extensive foundational and advanced ADR and mediation training from major institutions including: JAMS ADR, the Kukin Program for Conflict Resolution at the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, the American Arbitration Association, the SDNY ADR Program, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) ADR Program, ADR Center, Dispute Resolution Institute of the Mitchell Hamline School of Law and Curia Mercatorum.

ADR Teaching and Mentoring

  • Mr. Zanolla teaches in the City University of New York (CUNY) Law School’s Mediation Clinic, where he mentors and trains student mediators in mediation practice in court-annexed ADR programs throughout New York City courts.
  • He has previously mentored student mediators for the Mediation Clinic of Brooklyn Law School and has been a guest lecturer at other law schools and educational institutions including the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law and the Faculty of Law of the University of Trento (Italy).
  • He has trained and mentored mediators in programs across the U.S. and Europe and is a frequent speaker on the topic of mediation, negotiation and ADR processes for legal and insurance professionals.
  • Mr. Zanolla is a member of the faculty of the Claims and Litigation Management Alliance’s Claims College, School of Claims Mediation, as well as the Litigation Management Institute.
