About Liliana Amione
Since 2021, Ms. Amione has served as Head of Program Quality and Appraisal at the International Mediation Institute (IMI), where she oversees the quality assurance and development of mediation training and assessment programs worldwide. Her responsibilities include evaluating applications, coordinating appraisals and re-appraisals, and leading efforts to expand IMI’s network, with a focus on Latin America. Her ongoing research project, “Mediation as a Pathway to Tutela Judicial Efectiva: Rethinking Access to Justice in the Inter-American Human Rights System,” explores when and under what safeguards mediation can serve as a legitimate expression of effective judicial protection (tutela judicial efectiva) under the Inter-American framework. She presented this work at the AALS ADR Works-in-Progress Conference hosted by UC Law San Francisco (2025).
