About Jiang Liping
Jiang Liping is a mediator, trainer, and researcher at SINA Internet Law Research Institute.
Her dispute resolution work focuses on the design, development, and implementation of court-connected online dispute resolution platforms in China. In 2015, she helped design and develop an online project in connection with the Xihu Municipal Court, one of the first online dispute resolution court-connected programs in China. She now works with her colleagues to establish the People’s Court online mediation platform for all courts in China, which was confirmed by the Supreme Court in 2018 as the official online mediation platform for all courts in China.
More than 700 courts manage their cases using this platform, and other courts are in the process of adopting its use as well. Using this online mediation platform, mediators, judges, and parties are able to log in, input information, and obtain an online mediation. If the mediation fails, the case is transferred to a judge directly.
Ms. Jiang also works as a trainer, with judges and other ADR professionals, to develop training courses for mediators from the courts, mediation centers, and professional associations.
Jiang Liping served as a judicial assistant at the Dongguan Municipal No. 2 People’s Court, where she assisted in developing the Early Neutral Evaluation System for medical cases (2011-2013).
She further served as a project supervisor at the Shanghai Commercial Mediation Center (SCMC), where she managed the case docket and served as a mediator and assistant mediator.
