Evgeni Georgiev has been a trial judge for over seventeen years and was the first judge to successfully use mediation techniques in his courtroom, beginning in 2006. He is currently a trial judge at the Sofia City Court.

Evgeni Georgiev has been a trial judge for over seventeen years and was the first judge to successfully use mediation techniques in his courtroom, beginning in 2006. He is currently a trial judge at the Sofia City Court.
Judge Georgiev and his judicial colleagues and mediators initiated the first sustainable court-annexed mediation program in Bulgaria: the Settlement and Mediation Center at the Sofia City Court. Judge Georgiev has served as a Chair of the Managing Commission of the Center, now a leading model in Bulgaria. He continues to work to improve its operations through the coordination of training projects, quality assurance, and support-building initiatives.
He served as a Vice President and a member of the Board of Directors of the European Judicial Association for Mediation (GEMME). In 2008, he founded the Bulgarian section of GEMME.

Judge Georgiev has over seventeen years of experience on the bench and has adjudicated insurance, contract, tort, real estate, probate, defamation, class actions and labor disputes.
Mediation Practice
Judge Georgiev has managed over 150 settlement conferences and mediations while a trial judge at the Municipal Court. At the Sofia City Court, he regularly refers cases to mediation and when appropriate, conducts settlement conferences. His experience in mediation and settlement conferences includes: probate, labor, shareholder, insurance and commercial disputes.
