Aleksandre Tsuladze is an experienced commercial lawyer and mediator based in Tbilisi, Georgia. He is the founder of the first full-time private mediation center in the Republic of Georgia (Tbilisi Mediation Center), a pioneering court mediator in the country, and one of the mediators most often selected by the parties.

About Aleksandre Tsuladze

Aleksandre Tsuladze is an experienced commercial lawyer and mediator based in Tbilisi, Georgia. He is the founder of the first full-time private mediation center in the Republic of Georgia (Tbilisi Mediation Center), a pioneering court mediator in the country, and one of the mediators most often selected by the parties.

Mr. Tsuladze began his mediation journey as the coordinator of the working group on Mediation at the Ministry of justice (2011). Later, he became the head of the court mediation project at the High Council of Justice of Georgia (2015). He now serves as a Chairperson of the Commercial Law Committee at the Georgian Bar Association, where he works with attorneys and Bar representatives to obtain and maintain institutional support for mediation.

In addition, he teaches and promotes mediation culture in Georgia. He has trained dozens of judges, court mediators, practicing lawyers, and law students in mediation. He is also the founder of the Mediators Club of Georgia, and one of the founding members of the Georgian Mediators Association.

Mr. Tsuladze brings to his mediations a special dynamic to help the parties find creative solutions, and change their paradigms and perceptions of their problems.

  • Intellectual property disputes
  • Contracts – including: commercial contracts, sub-contracts, vendor disputes

ADR Achievements and Training

  • Awarded a Weinstein JAMS International Fellowship (2014)
  • Conducted mediation research as a Visiting Scholar at the Max-Planck Institute of Comparative and International Private Law in Hamburg, Germany (2013)
  • As a participant and member of a working group on peace projects across the globe, was awarded the “Golden Rondine” prize by the European Academy of Peace (2010)
  • Has undergone ToT on Mediation by the British Center for Effective Dispute Resolution (CEDR)
  • Trained in mediation by the Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution at Pepperdine University School of Law
  • Has undergone advanced mediation training at JAMS in San Francisco
  • Has undergone advanced negotiation training at the Gould Center for Conflict Resolution, Stanford Law School
  • Spent one semester as a Visiting Scholar at Columbia Law School
  • Has undergone Basic Mediation Training by South Texas College of Law Houston and NCADR, in Tbilisi, Georgia

ADR Teaching and Mentoring

As a Court Mediation Project Coordinator:

  • Has served as a mediation trainer at the High School of Justice of Georgia for the last 5 years and conducted numerous mediation trainings and workshops for Judges and Lawyers
  • To increase the pool of court mediators, with the support of the European Union and UNDP and his leadership, New Court Mediators have been given (40-hour) Basic Mediation Training
  • Provides mediation advocacy workshops for lawyers and negotiation workshops for business executives
  • Teaches mediation at several law schools in Georgia
