WIF International Mediation Writing Competition

The Weinstein International Foundation (WIF) is honored to announce the fifth edition of its International Mediation Writing Competition, an innovative initiative to advance the use of mediation worldwide. This annual competition is led by WIF’s Senior Fellows, distinguished mediation experts from across the Foundation’s extensive global network.
As the 2025 competition commences in this year’s 15 participating countries, law students from select universities around the world will have the opportunity to hone and showcase their mediation advocacy skills by drafting a mediation memorandum on behalf of a client preparing to mediate a litigated dispute.
The competition’s top submission will be awarded a cash prize of up to $1,000 USD, in recognition of the student’s legal writing and mediation competency.
Papers will be judged based on persuasiveness, ability to move the dispute to resolution while furthering the client’s interests, the tailoring of arguments to the mediation process and the over-all quality of writing and presentation. WIF’s Senior Fellows who are leading the competition in their respective countries include: Brazil: Mariana Freitas de Souza; Bulgaria: Dima Alexandrova; China: Jiang Heping; Ecuador: Ximena Bustamante; Egypt: Sherif Elnegahy; India: Laila Ollapally; Kenya: Victor Baba Emmanuel Aligo; Mexico: Fernando Navarro Sánchez and Nuria Gonzalez-Martin; Moldova: Patricia Zghibarta and Dumitru Lefter; Nigeria: Victoria Banke Olagbegi-Oloba; Romania: Constantin-Adi Gavrilă; Pakistan: Nudrat Ejaz Piracha; Singapore: Tat Lim; Vietnam: Tuan Nguyen and Thuy Thanh Do; Zambia: Mugeni Mulenga, Stephen Lungu and Lois Chisompola Sikwenda.
