Archil Chochia is a researcher at Tallinn Law School of Tallinn University of Technology, as well as a visiting lecturer at Lille Catholic University in France and a visiting researcher at HCMC University of Law in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

About Archil Chochia

Dr. Archil Chochia is a researcher at Tallinn Law School of Tallinn University of Technology, as well as a visiting lecturer at Lille Catholic University in France and a visiting researcher at HCMC University of Law in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Dr. Chochia is also an external expert at the Estonian e-Governance Academy in Tallinn, Estonia. Since 2008, he has managed several projects at Tallinn Law School, including the European Commission’s H2020 and Erasmus+ projects.

Dr. Chochia is a member of the faculty council of the School of Business and Governance at the Tallinn University of Technology. He has authored more than 70 academic publications including articles in peer-reviewed academic journals, book chapters, a doctoral dissertation, and conference papers. He is also co-editor of the books, Brexit: History, Reasoning and Perspectives (Springer 2018) and Political and Legal Perspectives of the EU Eastern Partnership Policy (Springer, 2016).

For five years, Dr. Chochia has been involved in a peace program organized by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), where he has worked with internally displaced persons (IDPs) on conflict resolution and peace-building negotiations. Dr. Chochia is on the list of international mediators of the International Court of Arbitration in affiliation with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Kyrgyz Republic.

ADR Achievements and Training

  • Chochia completed a Weinstein JAMS International Fellowship in 2018 where he participated in a mediation and negotiation training and shadowed a JAMS neutral during mediation sessions.
  • He has completed training programs at Harvard Law School, the Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution, Pepperdine School of Law, and at the University of California, Hastings College of Law.
  • Chochia studied conflict resolution and transformation for five years through the “Young Leaders for Peace and Development” Project, funded by USAID, which included study camps at George Mason University in Fairfax, VA, and the President Jimmy Carter Center in Atlanta, GA.

ADR Teaching and Mentoring

Dr. Chochia leads an ADR study and research team at the Research and Knowledge Centre of Legal Digital Competence of Tallinn Law School at the Tallinn University of Technology.
